What are purposes of these guidelines?
• To support the planning and implementation of the curriculum for pupils with learning difficulties
• To support effective practice across schools, setting and services for pupils with learning difficulties
• To support the National Curriculum framework, school curriculum framework and EQUALS Schemes of Work
• To share good practice on the planning, teaching and tracking of Key Skills across the curriculum
• To build on the principles of inclusion set out the National Curriculum and the SEN Code of Practice 2001:- setting suitable learning challenges
- responding to pupils’ diverse priority learning needs
- including all learners by overcoming potential barriers to learning and assessment
Who is the guidance for?
This guidance has been written to support the work of senior leaders, subject coordinators, SENCOs, class teachers, teaching assistants in schools/colleges and Local Authority support services.
